I can almost hear you all saying awwwwww what a sweet little girl - hmmmmm as if butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. Well, don’t be fooled, this little snow really pushed her luck this time …
As with all Bengals, we love our treats. One of our favourites comes in a packet made of thick foil and the contents are little cubes of natural fish and we are usually allowed to have two or three a day. They are delicious, and the moment we hear the rattle of the bag, we are instantly there, and never need calling. Mum keeps them in a drawer in the office normally, but on this occasion, she left them on the desk as there was someone at the door. She shut the office door, (she always keeps this closed because there are loads of wires and other exciting items in there which we would be tempted to play with if given the opportunity).
She was away for about ten minutes, and upon her return, she noticed that Asha was missing. She realised that when she had rushed to the door, she had shut Asha in the office. Well, in just this short time, Asha the Magpie, had become a hamster. She had chewed her way through the heavy foil, and eaten ALL our lovely fish treats. All that remained were a few crumbs, and I think that was only because she was so full up, she couldn’t eat anymore. She looked like the Pillsbury Doe Boy!
Mum kept a very close eye on her for the rest of the day, we were convinced that she would be sick, but the greedy little madam wasn’t going to waste these tasty morsels. Even I was surprised that she managed to chew through the foil, and at such speed. Needless to say, that the treats will not be left out under any circumstances in the future and anyone at the front door will just have to wait. Yet another example of 'Never underestimate the actions of us wonderful Bengals'
